How I Work
In my approach to therapy, I believe in giving clients the space to work themselves out, with me alongside them as a supportive soundboard rather than an instructor. I see therapy as a collaborative process, where clients are empowered to discover their own answers at their own pace. I bring a naturally positive outlook into my sessions, weaving lightness and encouragement into our work when appropriate, while always honouring the seriousness of the issues we explore. My personality is one of calmness and openness, creating a safe and welcoming space where clients can be completely themselves and know that every part of who they are will be accepted without judgment.

During my training to become a counsellor, I was fortunate to have a range of rich and varied placement opportunities. These experiences allowed me to work with diverse clients and develop my skills in several key areas. Please read on below to find out more about the areas I specialise in.
Working with Domestic Abuse Clients (with an emphasis on men’s experiences):
Working with people who have experienced domestic abuse means providing a space where they can feel truly heard, believed and supported. For men in particular, it can be especially challenging to reach out for help, often due to stigma, shame or fear of not being taken seriously.
My role is to offer a safe and compassionate environment where clients can begin to process what has happened, rebuild self-confidence and explore healthier ways of coping and relating.
Together, we work to understand the emotional and psychological impact of abuse, manage the ongoing effects of trauma and take meaningful steps toward recovery and self-empowerment.
Working with Clients with Acquired Brain Injury:
Supporting clients who have experienced an acquired brain injury, whether from a stroke, tumour or accident involves understanding the wide-ranging ways it can affect daily life, emotions and relationships.
These injuries can sometimes lead to changes in memory, speech, executive functioning or even learning abilities, which can be deeply frustrating and isolating. My approach is warm, patient and flexible, focusing on each person’s unique strengths and potential.
Together, we explore practical strategies to adapt to new challenges, rebuild confidence and find meaningful ways to move forward. I also recognise the importance of involving families or carers where helpful, creating a supportive environment that promotes understanding, growth and hope
In addition to individual counselling, I also offer an 8-week Resilience Programme. This programme can be tailored to any circumstance and focuses on recognising your strengths, understanding emotions and relationships, challenging negative beliefs and developing effective strategies for change. It’s designed to help you move forward with greater confidence, awareness and emotional balance.
